My junior year of college, I worked for Walt Disney World. I loved my time there because my sole job was to make families happy. After I left, I wanted to continue working with children and bringing them joy. I ended up landing a job at the Sooner Theatre, a performing arts studio in Oklahoma.
I was hired as a production assistant and assistant director for Sooner Theatre's youth productions. I taught musical theatre, jazz, stage combat, dialects, and even a little ballet. I wrote, choreographed, and directed two musical theatre productions involving k-2nd graders and 3-7th graders. During my senior year,

In Winter of 2019, I taught at Christian Youth Theater Dallas. CYT is the largest youth theater program in the nation. I introduced my students to musical theatre through the lens of Disney, writing and directing an original show for them. As the teacher for the youngest students in the program (4-7 yrs), I learned how to effectively communicate with and instruct kids of this age group.
Spring of 2020, I hit the road to bring theatre to kids who rarely get to be a part of it. I toured Prairie Fire Children's Theatre's production of "Sleeping Beauty". My partner and I cast, taught, and performed in the show with a new group of kids each week. Each group had kids anywhere between 7-18 so every show was different!
